The mission of Hardin
Baptist
Church
is to “Connect people to the person and cause of Christ.” Specifically we
seek to open doors of opportunities to connect members of Hardin with local,
state, national and international Mission
opportunities. Below are some of things we are involved with currently:
Southeast Dallas Revitalization Program
HBC is officially
launching its partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Gaston County to build at
least one house a year in southeastern Dallas. The location of the groundbreaking is
a lot HBC recently purchased and has been deeded for three houses. In addition,
HBC wants it to be understood that a key part of their partnership with Habitat
is to select homeowners from within the neighborhood. The goal is to empower
the citizens of the neighborhood. HBC used the groundbreaking to officially
announce plans to eventually add GED training, job placement assistance, after
school tutoring, job training, financial training, etc. to their efforts in
southeastern Dallas.
Church Plants
Currently we are
helping to fund two church plants.

Overseas Missions
We have been so blessed
to have James High and his family in our church for some time.
He and his wife Holli have felt the call to the mission field to work
with AIDS orphans in Africa.
In August 2008 James, Holli and their children will move to
Malawi
to set up a new orphan ministry there.
The organization they are working through is Homeless Children
International, Inc. The website for
that organization is
www.homelesskids.org.
Homeless Children International is a U.S. non-profit charity which has established and
supports orphan work in parts of Africa, Latin
America & Asia. You can follow
the Highs’ progress through their website at
www.hci-malawi.org.
Please pray for James and his family as they prepare for and embark on
the most challenging endeavor of their lives so far!
